Stop Septic Seepage

and reduce runoff.
- Create a "rain garden" to keep rain water in your

for a list of native plants that do well in our area.
Conserve Water

your local creek or stream.
- Note the name and direction of the streams and rivers below
the bridges you cross.
- Educate your parents or children on local geography, native
plants and animals.

Maryland: Where do we GROW from here?
Picture Maryland is a joint project of
Marylands Tributary Teams and the Baltimore Sun. This
32-page booklet is a citizens
guide to shaping the future of Maryland. It includes a reader-friendly description of
growth issues, resources and websites for more information, and what you can do to make
your community a more livable place. |
Fragile: Handle With Care
Maryland's Tributary Teams --
comprised of local citizens, farmers, business leaders and
government officials appointed by the Governor --
are working to keep your local
waterways clean and healthy. The health of the streams and
rivers that flow through your neighborhood directly affect the
health of the Chesapeake Bay. By controlling pollution upstream --
in the streams and rivers that feed the Chesapeake Bay -- Maryland's
Tributary Teams are working to make a difference in our
neighborhoods, our cities and towns, and the entire Chesapeake Bay
watershed. |
