Down the Bay You Will See Me

Down by the Bay you will see me,
Swimming with the White Perch who escaped from the fisher’s line,
And crawl with all of the Blue Crabs who are friends of mine!
And with the Flounders, I swim deep in the bottle green, salty sea,
There, down deep underwater, you will see me,
Watching the seaweed performers dance the jig,
And although the cove seems big,
Down by the Bay you will see me.

Down by the Bay you will see me,
Staring into the water on the shore of the small beach,
I gaze miserably at the cans and trash floating in the water within reach,
My little Bay friends cry from beneath the trash in the Sea,
“Oh, Why?” they plead, “why have you done this to me?”
“What damage we do to the Earth, to you and to me”,
“But for now..” I continued talking to the waters of green,
Down by the Bay you will see me.
