Launch Site Below the dam at the Tuckahoe Lake. Parking is available at the day use area near the playground.
Takeout Site Alt. Route 404 -- Hillsboro
Directions to Takeout Site From the park, take Eveland Road to a right onto Route 480 (Ridgely Road). Cross over Route 404 at the stoplight. Continue into Hillsboro on Main Street until the bridge. The landing is located just below the bridge.

Time 4.5 to 5 hours
Water Conditions Class I - depending on time of year and rainfall, paddlers may need to portage in certain areas.

Suitable For Families? Yes (with children able to paddle)
Hazards/Restrictions All paddlers should understand that river conditions vary depending on weather conditions and caution should always be exercised. PFD's are required and paddlers are encouraged to wear them at all times. Prior to beginning a trip call for weather predictions.
Potable Water All water in the lake should be treated and filtered. Drinking water is available in the bathhouse by the lake pavilion.
Natural Features Tidal Tuckahoe Creek offers an opportunity to see a variety of wildlife. Bald eagles, blue heron, osprey, turtles, and a variety of amphibians are often sited. Songbirds are also prevalent.
