Hunting in America is Big Business
The Animal Use Issues Committee of the International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (IAFWA) recently released "Hunting in America," a report that cites the latest figures (year 2006) on the economic contributions that hunters make to the US economy. According to the report, hunters invest $1.3 billion dollars annually to preserve, protect, and enhance wildlife populations and the environment. In Maryland, it is estimated that over 160,000 hunters annually enjoy over 2 million days of hunting and contribute over $210 million to the state's economy. For a free copy of the report contact the IAFWA at 202-624-7890 or visit www.iafwa.org
